What is LipiLearn?
LipiLearn teaches children to read and write Punjabi in the Gurmukhi script. Children learn all 35 letters with sound and stroke order, trace words and sentences with guides that gradually fade, and practise through games that reward effort with stars.
It's designed for families raising Punjabi-speaking children away from Punjab, where the spoken language is often at home but the script isn't.
What age is it for?
Roughly ages 3 to 10. Younger children usually start with letter sounds and tracing; older ones move on to words, sentences and the games. There's no reading ability assumed — a child who can't yet read English will be fine.
Do I need an account?
You can explore as a guest. An account is needed to save progress, use more than one child profile, and to keep a subscription across devices.
Signing up takes one step: enter your email and we send a six-digit code. There's no password to remember. You can also use Sign in with Apple.
Can I add more than one child?
Yes. Go to Parent Zone → Manage children → Add child. Each child gets their own stars, progress and settings — language, dark mode and reminders are per child, so siblings never overwrite one another.
What's free and what's premium?
The app is free to download and includes sample content so you can try it properly before deciding.
Premium unlocks all 35 Gurmukhi letters, word and sentence tracing, every learning game, and all new content we add — at no extra charge.
How much does it cost?
Yearly — ₹1,999 (best value) or Monthly — ₹249. Prices appear in your own currency inside the app and vary by country with local taxes.
How do I cancel?
Subscriptions are billed by Apple or Google, so cancelling happens in your store account, not in LipiLearn:
- iPhone or iPad: Settings → tap your name → Subscriptions → LipiLearn → Cancel Subscription
- Android: Play Store → profile icon → Payments and subscriptions → Subscriptions → LipiLearn → Cancel
You keep premium access until the end of the period you've paid for. Cancel at least 24 hours before it ends to avoid the next charge. Deleting the app does not cancel a subscription.
I paid but the app still says FREE
Open Go Premium and tap Restore Purchases. That re-checks your receipt with Apple or Google and re-applies your subscription.
If it still shows FREE, make sure you're signed into the same Apple ID or Google account that bought it, and the same LipiLearn account. Still stuck? Email us with the date of purchase and we'll sort it out.
Can I get a refund?
Refunds are handled by the stores, not by us. On Apple, visit reportaproblem.apple.com; on Android, request a refund through Google Play. If you have trouble, write to us and we'll help you approach them.
I have an iPhone and an iPad — do I pay twice?
No. One subscription covers every device signed into the same store account. Sign into your LipiLearn account on the second device and your child's progress comes with it.
Does it work offline?
Mostly. Tracing and letter practice work without a connection, and progress is saved on the device. You'll need internet to sign in, sync progress between devices, and confirm a subscription.
Will my child's progress survive a new phone?
Yes, as long as you're signed in. Progress saves to your account, so signing in on a new device brings back every star. Guest progress lives only on that device.
What is Parent Zone?
The grown-ups' area — account details, child profiles, subscription and support. It sits behind a simple gate so a child doesn't wander into settings or the paywall.
Can I change my email address?
Yes — Parent Zone → Profile information → Email. We send a code to the new address to confirm it's yours before switching. Nothing changes until you enter that code.
Are there ads?
None, and there never will be. No advertising, no tracking SDKs, no analytics profiling your child, and nothing is sold to anyone.
What information do you hold about my child?
Their first name, optionally their age, the avatar you picked, and their learning progress. That's all — and it's used only to show their profile and save their place. Please don't enter a surname or school; the app doesn't need it.
The full detail is in our Privacy Policy.
Can my child buy something by accident?
Purchases sit behind Parent Zone, and Apple or Google will always ask for your password, Face ID or fingerprint before charging. You can add further restrictions with Screen Time on iOS or parental controls on Android.
How do I delete my account?
Parent Zone → Profile → Delete account. Your email and phone number are removed and the account can no longer be signed into.
If you sign back in later with the same email, we can restore your family's progress. Prefer everything erased permanently instead? Email us and we'll do it within 30 days.
Remember to cancel your subscription separately through Apple or Google — deleting the account doesn't stop billing.
Still need a hand?
Write to us and a real person will reply, usually within two working days.
