Privacy Policy

Last updated: 3 August 2026

LipiLearn is made for children, so we collect as little as we can, we never sell it, and there are no advertising or tracking services inside the app.

This policy explains what Lipi Learn Punjabi ("we", "us") collects through the LipiLearn mobile app and the lipilearn.org website, why we collect it, and the choices you have. It is written for the parent or guardian who sets up the account.

Information created as your child learns

Information about your subscription

If you subscribe, Apple or Google tells us whether the subscription is active, which plan it is, and when it renews or expires. We never see or store your card, bank or billing details — those stay with Apple and Google.

Basic connection information

When the app connects to us we briefly record standard connection details, including the device's IP address. We use this only to keep the service running reliably and to protect it from misuse, and we don't keep it for long.

What we don't collect: no advertising identifiers, no location data, no contacts, no photos or microphone access, no third-party analytics or tracking SDKs, and no behavioural profiling of your child. LipiLearn contains no advertising of any kind.

2. Children's information

LipiLearn is designed for children aged roughly 3–10, but the account belongs to a parent or guardian. Children cannot create an account, sign in by themselves, enter an email address, make a purchase, or send us a message. Everything that involves personal information sits behind the Parent Zone.

The only information we hold about a child is the first name, optional age, chosen avatar and their learning progress. We use it solely to show their profile and save their place in the app. We do not use children's information for advertising, marketing, profiling or automated decision-making, and we never disclose it for anyone else's marketing purposes.

Because families use LipiLearn around the world, we aim to meet the standards of the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA) in the United States, the additional protections for children under the UK and EU GDPR, and India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act. By creating a child profile you confirm you are that child's parent or guardian and consent to us handling their information as described here.

If you believe a child has given us information without a parent's involvement, email us and we'll delete it promptly.

3. How we use it

For users in the UK and EU, our lawful bases are performance of a contract (running the app you signed up for), legitimate interests (keeping it secure), consent (optional details such as your phone number), and legal obligation where applicable.

4. Who we share it with

We do not sell, rent or trade your information, and we never share it for anyone else's advertising or marketing.

Like any app, we rely on a small number of trusted providers to operate LipiLearn — for example to host the service, to deliver the email containing your sign-in code, and to confirm with the app stores that a subscription is valid. They receive only what they need to perform that task, are required to keep it confidential, and may not use it for their own purposes.

Apple and Google necessarily handle your purchase, since they process the payment and tell us whether your subscription is active.

We may also disclose information if the law requires it, to protect the rights and safety of our users or ourselves, or as part of a business sale or merger — in which case we'll tell you before your information becomes subject to a different policy.

5. Where it's stored

Your information is held on secure servers operated on our behalf, which may be located outside your own country. Wherever it is stored or processed, it remains protected by this policy and by contractual safeguards that require the same standard of care.

6. How we protect it

Keeping your family's information safe is a promise we take seriously.

Information is encrypted while travelling between the app and our servers, and it is stored securely. Only the small number of people who maintain LipiLearn can access it, and only when they need to. We review our safeguards regularly and design the app to collect as little as possible in the first place — the less we hold, the less there is to protect.

No service can promise perfect security, but if a breach ever affected your information we would tell you and notify the relevant authority, as the law requires.

7. How long we keep it

We keep your account information for as long as your account exists.

When you delete your account from Parent Zone, we immediately remove the details that identify you — your email address and phone number — so the account can no longer be signed into, and you are signed out everywhere straight away. Your child's learning progress is kept in a form that is no longer linked to your personal details, and your original email address is held separately so that we can restore your family's progress if you come back and sign in with the same address.

If you would prefer everything erased permanently instead, email us and we'll complete the erasure within 30 days and confirm when it's done. Records we're legally required to keep, such as transaction records for tax purposes, are retained for as long as the law requires.

8. Your rights

You can, at any time:

Email us and we'll respond within 30 days. If you're not satisfied, you can raise the matter with the Data Protection Board of India, or with the data protection authority in your own country.

9. Changes to this policy

We'll post any changes on this page and update the date at the top. If a change is significant, we'll tell you in the app or by email before it takes effect. Continuing to use LipiLearn after that means you accept the updated policy.
